Scope
This policy applies to the PhiScale Tephra Bench iOS application published by PhiScale Tephra Bench. The marketing website is static informational content and does not embed third-party analytics or advertising pixels.
Data the app processes on device
To run a sieve session you may enter retained masses, stack configurations, sample names, and optional notes. Folk & Ward statistics, frequency and cumulative curves, comparison overlays, reference-suite clones, concept-drill progress, PDF worksheets, and CSV exports are computed and stored locally on the device you control.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-in, or cloud profile
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
- No sale or brokerage of personal information
- No location services requirement
- No background network upload of lab samples or statistics
Network use
The product is offline-first and fully usable with zero network. The app does not require connectivity to compose meshes, compute statistics, overlay curves, run drills, or export worksheets. If you contact support by email, that communication uses your own mail client and provider—not an in-app telemetry channel.
Exports you choose
When you generate a PDF or CSV, the file is created on device. Sharing that file (AirDrop, Files, print, email) is under your control and subject to whatever tools you pick next.
Children & education settings
The app is an education workbench for university, secondary earth-science, and museum contexts. Because PhiScale Tephra Bench does not collect personal data, instructors can use it without configuring a vendor data-processing pipeline for student sieve results.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a material way, we will update the text on this page and revise the effective year note. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
