Quick bench FAQ
Does the app need a network during lab?
No. PhiScale Tephra Bench is offline-first: mesh libraries, statistics, charts, samples, drills, and exports run entirely on device with zero network requirement.
Where are named samples stored?
On your device only. Stack snapshots, retained masses, notes, and comparison sets stay local—there is no cloud account or sync service.
Can I bring my lab’s sieve set?
Yes. Compose apertures from the seeded phi/mm library or start from a lab-kit template, then enter retained mass per fraction plus pan for live mass-balance checks.
What do the Folk & Ward numbers mean here?
Graphic mean, sorting, skewness, and kurtosis update as masses change, with plain-language sorting bands written for teaching—not operational volcanic-hazard modeling.
How do worksheet exports work offline?
PDF handouts (stack table, chart, stats block, texture guidance, signature line) and optional fraction CSV are generated on-device for AirDrop, Files, or print workflows.
